Today being Canada Day, I received a text from a friend this morning wishing me a "Happy Canada Day"! ..... What does that even mean ?? I guess I could appreciate the sentiment and the country I live in... although it would have made more sense if Monday was the stat instead of Tuesday, not that it really mattered much, I worked both days anyway- because in Canada you can't afford not to. I just thought of that quote from Love Story, "Love means never having to say you're sorry." (I still don't really get what that means)... Being Canadian means always having to say you're sorry.
When I went out for a walk today I had forgotten it was Canada Day until I saw people with their little paper flags, fake flag tattoos and a variety of red clothing. I was dismayed when I realized I had inadvertently worn a red t-shirt... woops, that's like wearing green on St. Patricks Day. I can't recall who said it but the quote went something like this, " The most over rated virtue is patriotism."
