At the local watering hole ("The Office" as it's fondly referred to) a juke box was installed a few months ago and has become quite a source of entertainment for the regulars, particularly the 40 and 50 somethings. The local celebrities can relive the glory years to the soundtrack to their lives by simply pumping a few bucks in a machine on the wall. The jukebox is kind of like iTunes in that it has a very extensive playlist and it becomes a competition at times to see who can outdo the other with their favorite lost classic. You can pay extra to "bump" somebody else's song to hear yours although I wouldn't recommend it, the natives can get pretty restless when they've been waiting to hear "their song."
I was up there this past weekend and Roman came up to me and asked me about a song, "Was it LA to New York or New York to LA ?" I wasn't sure which but I do know the song was by an artist named Patsy Gallant, although at first I was unsure whether it was Patsy or Patty. The song could not be found on the jukebox and it may be one of the first times we got "stumped", so here it is in all it glory. This video cracks me up every time I see it, she's so over the top...
Damn YouTube, they took the video off but here's the song anyway--and it's From New York To LA...
