Outrageous, Ridiculous, Preposterous...

I was unable to find it on the interweb but earlier this week I saw a picture of Pam Anderson in the line up at a KFC endorsing a vegan "faux" chicken burger (if you want a vegan burger go to a vegan restaurant).

This ad campaign, fortunately and amazingly enough, was disallowed in Vancouver...

Ms. Anderson is a card carrying member of PETA and recently KFC Canada has promised to improve the treatment of its chickens. That's great, being an animal lover, I can't even kill the trout I catch when we go fishing (which isn't often) and I let flies out of the house.

I find PETA'S ad campaigns annoying and usually don't care what they do but this...

This ad was in reference to the recent tragedy in Manitoba where an innocent man was stabbed repeatedly and had his head was cut off on a Greyhound bus. For PETA to compare the violent, senseless death of an innocent human being to the treatment of animals (who are only on this planet because farmers have raised them for food so the human race can survive) is absolutely unconscionable.
I understand the shock value of this ad and the fact that there is no such thing as bad press-- but not at the expense of  family, friends and the women, children (and men) on the bus that had to witness such an horrific act. I don't know if it says it in the news report I posted but apparently after he beheaded him, the murderer walked up the aisle carrying the head. I can only hope that everyone involved with that incident sues PETA and wins for this shameful type of exploitation.

A bit of a sidebar but I heard on the radio today that Hitler may have been a vegetarian, not that that has anything to do with anything...

Oh my God! That reminds me of what's his face on ConAir that wore his victim's head as a hat... I agree with ya-- eat animals, but don't DELIBERATELY torture them...don't buy a puppy if you're going to ignore it...
On the other hand-- the funny incident with the skunk-- if it would have happened around here, no one would have 'rescued' it at risk of the horrid smell-- I'm sure someone would have shot it... plus many in this county were rabid last year... and everyone shoots starlings without growing up to be serial killers...
I saw on TV yesterday that Pamela dyes her own hair roots instead of paying a beautician...well. That's sumthin!

It's a really bizarre incident, stuff like that just doesn't seem to happen here.
If you shot any animal here people would be all over you like you wouldn't believe, even a skunk. It gets a little ridiculous although I wouldn't be able to do it.
The police had to shoot a black bear recently after it attacked a lady in her yard. Some people didn't care much for that but what if that was THEIR wife/daughter/sister ?
I could never understand people getting a dog and abusing it. like the bumper sticker says, "Puppies aren't just for Christmas"...
